Tips for couples to to meet health and fitness goals together:
1. Cook together
A date night that involves cooking a healthy meal together could be one of the best ideas for a couple to spend time with each other. Choose nutritious dishes and consider each other’s preferences. Make use of a good amount of healthy foods such as vegetables, fruits, nuts, whole grains, chicken, fish, cottage cheese, among others. Choose oragnic,seasonal and locally available food and avoid packaged, preserved or canned foods as they are loaded with unhealthy fats, sugar, salt, and preservatives.
2. Try to do a couple workout
As we said, ‘couples that sweat together, stay together’, Invest time in some kind of physical activity such as couple yoga, any favourite sports, swimming, running, a brisk walk, or training together at the gym. Joining a spiritual session or a meditation class together can also help in maintaining mental and emotional health. Remember, your overall well-being can always help to keep your relationship in a good shape. You can also try some couple-oriented HIIT exercise such as high knees, burpees, partner push-ups, pull ups, high jumps, Russian twist pass, among others to accelerate the heart rate and work on those muscles.
3. Motivate your partner
Doing things in each other’s company will not only allow couples to spend more time together, but they can also mutually motivate each other. Inspiring your partner will help them achieve their fitness goals faster and easier. In case anyone of you has any harmful addictions, your partner can help you overcome them with immense care, love, and motivation.
4. Set realistic goals
There will be times when your partner might feel low and lazy to engage in any physical activity. In such daunting times, it becomes important to encourage him/her to workout at least 3-4 times a week. Push forward your significant other and pump up that positive energy into him/her to be the better version of yourself.
5. Take preventive measures
Prioritize your health as well as your partner’s well-being by focusing on nutritious food. Try being in a healthy weight bracket. Get a full-body check up done on a regular basis to assess physical health from time to time. This can help detect any kind of underlying illnesses, based on which one can take precautionary treatments/measures to prevent a greater risk in future.
